ThinSonic™ Pulsed-CVD Systems deliver:

• Outstanding CVD Performance
• High Deposition Rates
• Affordable Price
• Simplicity
• Versatility

Using a Sono-Tek TSCVD ultrasonic nozzle specifically designed to operate in a vacuum environment, the ThinSonic™ chemical vapor deposition system operates on a unique but simple principle. Originally developed by researchers at Cornell University, Sono-Tek's ThinSonic system has proven successful in a variety of Metallic Organic CVD applications, as well as in cold chamber applications such as applying thin polymeric films.

Typical applications include:

  • Biological Coatings - Sono-Tek has developed the MediSonicsystem (patent pending) to apply highly uniform continuous and conformal coatings to the delicate surfaces of arterial stents in the medical products industry. Click for more information.
  • Sensor Coatings for Homeland Security - the special version of the ThinSonic and its proprietary process is being used to apply very thin and uniform polymeric coatings to the surface of Surface Acoustic Wave devices (SAWs). SAWs are used in portable sensors that can detect a number of toxic gases in the environment and alert both the wearer and a network of a threat to security and safety.
  • Electronic Coatings on semiconductor wafers, solar cells, fuel cells, sensors
  • Hardness Coatings for wear resistance
  • Biological Coatings
